As the founder of Elite Hair Fibers and the creator of the YouTube channel Hair Transplant Reality, I can say that I have tried almost all the hair thinning and hair loss solutions out there. In this article, we will discuss several options while providing links and testimonials. As always with medicines, talk to your doctor before buying or using any of these products.
Here are my thoughts on just some of the various hair loss treatments…
Minoxidil
Minoxidil comes both topical and oral, some doctors recommend using both versions. This product works for approximately 65% of people and is worth trying if approved by your doctor! Note that any chemical product (which Minoxidil is) will cause shedding the first 15-90 days.
Oral Minoxidil
- A 90-day script is approximately $15 USD
Topical Minoxidil
- $5 – $15 USD per month
- Can leave a greasy feel
- anything past 5% may dry and irritate the scalp

Spectral DNC-N
(Nanoxidil 5%)
Nanoxidil 5% (aka Spectral DNC-N) is a different version of Minoxidil formulated with the same chemical make-up but refined specifically for hair loss across the front and back of the head. It has 9 active ingredients to help block DHT at the root of the hair. Nanoxidil can be used on the whole scalp to help increase growth and regrow dormant hair. Like Minoxidil, it will slow hair loss while boosting current hair. Spectral DNC-N Nanoxidil can be used at the same time as Minoxidil and or can be used as a replacement if Minoxidil causes side effects – Nanoxidil has NO KNOWN side effects. I personally have had minor side effects from oral and topical Minoxidil, but none from Nanoxidil.
Nanoxidil smells great and does not leave a greasy feel. Similar to Minoxidil, you can expect some hair shedding in the beginning. I would suggest trying it for a full 6 months, once or twice a day, to see full results. Doctors recommend Nanoxidil be used once a day to maintain results.
Derma Rollers
Derma rolling is one of the cheapest, easiest ways to start getting hair regrowth. A derma roller is approximately $10 USD and should be replaced each month. Derma rollers should be cleaned with 70% isopropyl alcohol before use. Allow them dry fully before using or it might irritate your scalp. DO NOT USE any chemicals on your scalp within 24 hours of derma rolling.
StimuROLLER is one of the best Derma Roller brands I’ve tried. It is made by DS LABRATORIES and has 540 High Grade Titanium needles that painlessly glide over your skin that signal skin to produce collagen and elastin. This will promote hair growth and slow hair loss. This product feels high quality while still being affordable.
It is easy to use it and comes in different needle sizes for different areas:
- .3MM for the face
- .5mm for beard region (not your temples or near your eyes)
- 1MM for your head.
They all increase absorption of any products you put on your skin by up to 20x. It is recommended to use .3 mm 3-4x a week .5 mm 1-3x per week, and 1mm every 7-14 days for best results!
This product takes 3-6 months to show results (closer to 3 months for beards) so ensure you use it properly for the full 6 months. Note that full results could take up to a full year.
